Geogrid

Tensar BX Geogrids are created using select grades of polypropylene or copolymers that resist high, short-term dynamic loads or moderate loads over longer time periods. These products carry loads applied in any direction in the plane of the geogrid.

Tensar BX Geogrids are used for subgrade improvement and base reinforcement. Tensar biaxial geogrids are used in lieu of over excavation which requires large amounts of extra aggregate, chemical stabilization which is weather dependant.

Tensar works in conjunction with aggregate to form a firm construction platform. Tensar georids have a uniform aperture size that allows a for a engineered gradation of aggregate to work with that aperture size to build that platform.

The aggregate alone would work in increased thicknesses, however with Tensar geogrids that thickness can be decreased because the grid acts much like a snow shoe.   Like the snow shoe Tensar BX grids spread the load out over a larger area thus reducing the load felt be the underlying subgrade.
