Standard hydroseeding is widely used for lawns in residential, commercial, and urban seeding. Hydroseeding typically costs 50-80% less than sod and can be completed more efficiently than hand-seeding with a more uniform coverage. The lawn quality of a hydroseeding application is healthier, greener, and longer lasting than sod or hand-seeding applications. Hydroseeding avoids the transplanting shock of sod due to different soil types and also holds the moisture better than sod or hand seeding to provide better seed germination. Hydroseeding is ideal for residential lawns, athletic fields, and, more commonly, roadside vegetation.

Application Rate is typically between 1,500 to 2,000 lbs.

Hydroseeding products available at Coleman Moore Company include:

  • Profile Products’s Second Nature Cellulose Fiber (commonly called paper mulch)

  • Profile Products’ Second Nature Wood Fiber Blend (commonly called wood/paper blend)

  • Profile Products’ Second Nature Wood Fiber (commonly called wood mulch)

Profile Product’s hydroseeding erosion control products are environmentally-friendly and biodegradable. They are easy to apply with the proper equipment, not only reducing your overall costs but also your time spent on the job.

Two other hydroseeding materials we offer at Coleman Moore include Mechanically Bonded Fiber Matrix (MBFM) and Bonded Fiber Matrix (BFM).

Hydroseeding Mechanically Bonded Fiber Matrix (MBFM)

Mechanically Bonded Fiber Matrix (MBFM) is primarily used in lieu of erosion control blankets on steeper slopes because good ground preparation is nearly impossible in these applications. Hydroseeding MBFMs contain synthetic fibers to increase the stability of the hydroseeding matrix for tougher erosion control applications.

Application Rate is typically between 3,000 and 4,500 lbs.

Hydroseeding MBFM products available at Coleman Moore include:

  • North American Green’s HydraCX

  • LSC EarthGuard Fiber Matrix

  • Profile Products’ Flexterra

Hydroseeding Bonded Fiber Matrix (BFM)

Hydroseeding Bonded Fiber Matrix (BFM) are used for cut and fill slopes along with other disturbed areas when there is a greater need for erosion control rather than just for seeding germination. Application rates for BFMs are generally higher than standard hydroseeding; however, less soil preparation is required compared to using rolled erosion control blankets.

Application Rate is typically between 3,000 and 4,500 lbs.

Our hydroseeding BFM erosion control products include:

  • North American Green’s HydraCM

  • LSC’s EarthGuard Fiber Matrix

  • Profile Products’ Flexterra
